I'm about to start gathering the parts to build a pair of Jeff Bagby's "Woofer modules" and realized that apparently "Twisted Zistors" were a proprietary line from Meniscus. So I could use some informed opinions about resistors.
The valus I need are 3 and 10 ohm, 25 watts.
Firstly, why do you suppose he specified them? And secondly is there something else that would work as well in that application? And would it matter?
Thanks very much for any help.

Unfortunately, it sounds like some drivers may have given up the ghost due to an accidental full volume crank before powering on the amplifier by one of his buddies. We have yet to inspect the speakers he just brought home, but I'm starting the hunt for drivers. I happen to already have a spare set of SD215A-88, but not the NLA DA25BG08-06.

I have a Topping PA5 am that I would like to sell. This amp is known as have a very, very low noise floor. That makes it perfect for driving compression drivers in multiway horn loudspeakers. It can deliver 125W per channel at 1% THD and has a volume control on the front panel. It's a nice mini-size class-D amplifier using the TPA3255 IC that is probably the best out there outside of Hypex and Purifi.

The amp has two sets of balanced TRS inputs but can also work well with single ended connection using TRS->RCA adapters that cost $1.50 each.

The amp comes in the original MFG packaging and is the silver version. It's in perfect cosmetic and working condition.

Reviewed at audiosciencereview.com:

$349 new, asking $200 with shipping included.

Here's a proposition for anyone who can do some good veneer work and is within a hour or two of Lansing Michigan:

I have a couple of MDF subwoofer cab I build from the PE/DIYsoundgroup flat packs. These have been sanded/routed flush but are otherwise unfinished. It's this product:
https://www.parts-express.com/Denovo-Audio-Knock-Down-MDF-4.0-cu.-ft.-Subwoofer-Cabinet-for-Dayton-Audio-18-Ultimax-300-7089?quantity=1
External dimensions: 23" H x 20" W x 20.75" D

I also have a couple of pairs of Dayton subs: two RSS390HO-4 and two RSS265HO-4.

I would really like to get the cabs nicely finished, so I would be happy to trade the subs for veneer work or other cladding in wood or other material. If you are interested please contact me here via PM. I am willing to consider other possibilities in exchange for finish work on my cabs. Thanks!

I would just swap in another of my Rival woofers, but the cabinet is a TL designed specifically for this driver, and I don't know if any of the others are a direct drop-in in terms of box tuning.

Any help would be appreciated!
