You are looking at an omnidirectional speaker. The C shaped tube is the enclosure, and a pair of Satori midbasses are mounted in reverse (operating in force-cancelling mode; up and down) to facilitate the mounting of the manufacturer'd proprietary 360* ribbon tweeter. 

There is also a newer recently released model that debuted at the Munich Audio Show called the Counterpoint.
