yea, the price doesn't affect the sound quality, just the 'experience' and at $1900 it's pushing...
I like the bal and unbal options, 210+ w 8ohm, and unlike pro amps (that I've seen, could be wrong) it has a 12v trigger, and no fan noise, in a compact box
I haven't heard that amp, but have you considered the ncore or new purifi boards? I know it's easier to just buy something, but, both boards that I mentioned are reported to sound good.
Someone on here had several reliability issues with the hypex stuff.
I have the ncores, and can verify they are really really good compared to most AB amps that you can get in that price range (say upto 2k) I have not have any experience with amps beyond that range. 400watts of clean power, driven by a good quality DAC should just about fit in within 2k budget.
And if you do not want to DIY, you can get nc252mp/nc502mp based amps.
Price varies a lot but a very basic nc252mp based amp can be obtained for less that $600USD:

The hypex modules OEM and DIY do measure super clean and with good power.

just traded in my old friends; two acurus 150s towards a powerbloc4
325w x 4 8ohm should do the trick (biamp set-up)
Hm ... I like Acurus ...
Icepower modules in that. I would have opted for hypex or purifi based designs.
In any case, should be a great amp.
