Is there some simple to use software that helps figure room nodes and optimum speaker/listener placement?

The attached spreadsheet is helpful. Anything more complex than that spreadsheet really needs FEM modelling.

Here's a link for a program that shows room modes based on L, W and height. Nice and simple.
