Yes- and with good reason. Why would a company allow people to discuss ways to cut said company out of the supply chain in their own back yard? I can totally see the logic in that. If it were an impartial 3rd party where things were discussed, I can see why almost all talk goes.
That said- Lyeco is a really touchy word you'll never hear me mention on PETT.
The woofer looks nice. In my teens I had an inexpensive "Ultimate" brand subwoofer that had a cone that looked like that. I think they advertised it as a "carbon" cone, but that doesn't mean anything in car audio marketing speak. It was an unfortunate brand name apparently, fairly unsearchable today.

Speaking of AliExpress, they got me again (not capacitors)...
Yeah, I'm a sucker. Hope the woofers measure as advertised.
Couple of years ago, I paid about $75 for Qty 2 on Ali for 3.5 inch mid woofers that
look a lot like that. Measured true to the published spec. 2nd HD low, with 3rd HD just a
little elevated. Never used them.
But Chahly - Stahkist don't want speakers that look good, Stahkist wants speakers that sound good!

Thought the exact same thing

Oh, I dont blame PE - but that is also why we allow what we allow here.
Lyeco is a great build-house.

Ultimate stuff I feel was underappreciated, and was actually half-ways decent as far as car sound goes. The Copper-coned series were great performers.

These are 120mm frames, I am very excited to test them.
So basically (and sorry for hijacking the thread) I will be presenting AliExpress sourced builds this coming year. Good times.
Got these in 2014 or so look pretty close.
Probably same motor - looks like a different cone. You still have those woofers?
Yep.
Mine was sold as Audio Lab DLT40TB - ceramic cone - 120mm diameter total. Measured well:
3rd HD just a touch high at 95 dB
I’ll get to try out my new Caps on this overdue project
Those mids look familiar...
So far pretty easy to work with too.
MAX Fidelity!

Do those trim rings have a bevel/slope? Looks that way to my eyes.
Nice job on the trim rings Brad!
There Flat.
What spectacular way to dress up ugly drivers!
Insert the obligatory "guy" bar quote:
"After a few beers, all drivers look beautiful"
LOL
So are we going to start rating drivers by "how many beers...."? lol
Sounds like a DIY event kind of day.
