Just saw this on Audiokarma -
Wharfedale 507.2 - woofers mounted with what looks like a big bayonet type mount. Dealers had a special tool to remove them and this guy made his own.
How weird.

A lot of engineering just to avoid having screws visible on the front of the speaker. Something tells me "there must be a better way"
Could it be to speed up assembly?

It might be a way to decouple the driver from the front panel.

I have my doubts on that. It still looks to be rather "coupled", just installed with tabs instead of screws.
