cold press veneer glue Unibond One

https://www.vacupress.com/product/unibond-one-1-gallon/
Just noticed this glue on vacuum pressing system web site.
Ordered a gallon and will review it next week.
From the description and a conversation with sales guys it looks like an easier option for relatively simple straight grained raw veneers like Mahogany or Walnut. Veneers that like to move still are recommended to be used with Unibond 800.

  • Cool keep us in the loop
  • After working with this glue for a couple of months, here are the conclusions.
    1) It is not gap filling. Tightbond II is better in this respect.
    2) The glue line is thin and nearly as rigid as Urea resign or older Unibond 800 (before they made it environmentally friendly)
    3) Open time is similar to Tightbond II.
4)Bleed-through appears to be lesser than II.

This glue will work for these of you guys who cold press raw veneer on flat panels like MDF. It is very good for this purpose. Glue line is very strong and rigid.

  • i will be using the same veneer, just two layers of it. Would it be better if the grains are crossed for the second layer?
