3D Printing Today

With how far 3D printer tech has come in the last few years, it is more approachable than ever. The printers are cheap, the software is free (modeling and slicing), and even the material cost has remained quite low. I figure it's time for another thread on the subject, open discussion, and sharing of stuff complete or works in progress. I know in recent DIY speaker events even entire speakers have shown up 3d printed.

I needed a small plate for the OC16 peerless/tymphany driver, so opening TinkerCAD I used boolean operations on simple shapes following the spec sheet to get this design:

Then I took it into Cura to slice the model for my cheap Ender 3 Neo:

28 minutes later I got this print:

Which fit perfectly first try (that never happens!):

I'll keep posting more stuff in this thread, and as I said I encourage general discussion about the tech here as well.

    Agreed, and that is something I've been thinking about a lot.
