The FR from 0-90deg.
The distortion test I didn’t try and kill it since these are not replaceable but you can see where crossover point could lie. Thd @ 6”
The precision magnetic technology. Which I believe is what PMT stood for pretty popular brand back in the late 80s where Im from they made lots of replacement speakers I would consider more like GRS speakers.
In my experience it is typically VC rub from an out of round/bent former. I always wondered if the imperfection causes the former to actually oscillate at certain frequencies leading to rubbing at only those frequencies. Though I'd figure it would show up in the distortion?
I’ll run a ToneGenerator on it tomorrow and see where it makes zinging noise and at what frequency. And also do the small Chinese mid range because that’s going to take two different types of measurements because it is an open back dome mid range. Well Imid range because that’s going to take two different types of measurements because it is an open back dome mid range.

The Chinese dome midrange Open backed
I like that one, open back it doesn't play very low but I imagine with a well-designed back cup it would perform pretty well. Plus it is a small form factor which is always cool.

Let's talk about these on Saturday.
I’ll do some IEC baffle measurements on them before then.

The one on the right looked like the Peerless Darren used in the Jubilees waaaay back.
I guess I don't know what a PMT is then...

I don't think I'd classify a Peerless DA32TX as a dome midrange.
If I could hear 30KHz, I would . . .
It was just an 'in effect' large dome.

I had some free time this morning so… first will be the Peerless.

Philips AD 02150/SQ8 looks awfully similar to the PMT.
I thought it did too, except for the face.

They definitely could be the same or copy of.

Sealed back.

It doesn't need a back cup, cool. I would cross it at 800 in a small 3-way.
Do you have a link for the Chinese one? That looks pretty good.
No. These were purchased 9 years ago when I was involved in a Motorcycle audio business.

Is that 2nd or 3rd order HD dominant. To me, Blue = 3rd order, ick!
