Cover it with cloth and no-one is the wiser (and PEQ it to perfection crossed to a sub . . .).

Oval driver, oval radiation pattern. Shortest dimension of oval will be similar to round driver of same dimension. Same for longest dimension.

Those first reflections occur at frequencies where the difference between 6" or 9" isn't going to make a lick of difference.
