Driver is the Vifa NE265W-04
Amp is this:
https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-DTA-100LF-Desktop-Low-Frequency-Amplifier-with-EQ-300-3805?quantity=1
Cabinet will be ~0.71 cubic feet, sealed. Constraints are that it needs to serve double duty as a stand for the tower computer I have in there. OD will be 15Hx8Wx16D. 3/4" construction and a couple braces.
I am using the amp I am not just because I already have one but because it has an infrasonic filter, a single band PEQ, and fully adjustable phase. Very flexible little feller.
Here is modeled extension using the PEQ set to Q=1, F=30, and Gain=4db, low pass set to 60Hz, and high pass set to 20Hz:
Excursion exceeds the rated 9mm, but I would bet dollars to donuts the driver has plenty of mechanical throw to protect things:
Maximum anechoic SPL is 104db@52Hz:
Apparent amplifier power is just under the rated 100W, so the EQ isn't consuming too much overhead. If I had gone lower and more gain, it likely would have eaten in to the overhead.
Normally I do not model "worst case" but there it is. At my normal listening levels I am sure it will never break a sweat and the amp will not get at all hot.
Anyways, this will be a fun little guy to fatten things up in my utility room. Oh, speakers are these:

TM will be amped using this:
This is a cosmetic as well as feature complement to the subwoofer amp. I like the ability to set an active high-pass, so that will get set to ~70Hz. Some measurements to verify level matching and phase and should be a very cool little setup for a utility room. The Ersatz will do until I build something nicer next spring. I can crank out a subwoofer cabinet in no time using some of those shelves from Menards.
