Dayton PT2C-8 Planar Tweeter . . .

edited May 28 in DIY

Is pretty good but needs some PEQ help above 10KHz to sound flat and crisp - Doubt it is useful with passive XO's but DSP/PEQ can bring this guy into competition with the Fountek Neo 3.5H

The build at inDIYana this year with the pt2c was nice imo. I think 2khz was the reported crossover point, which seems very low but it didn't seem to complain at the volume levels played. I was listening for the top end rolloff but didn't notice detail loss.

  • I don't think Taylor crossed it that low. Like I said, 2100 was possible with 9 of them, but barely. 3k is more reasonable, 2.5k needed a 3rd order or higher slope.

I think Taylor had his at about 2.8kHz. The RS150P should be able to meet it there.
