So I have been playing around with the Mark Audio CHN-110 in a Frugal Horn Joan, which is the largest of the frugal horn line. Full range drivers have always intrigued me even though I have not found one prior to this that I could live with. When I started back up in DIY, I saw a bunch of talk about the frugal horns on diyaudio that piqued my interest. For the price, it is a very cheap build, so I thought I would try it out. I have actually had these in my system for 3 months now, and actually really like them. They actually do pretty well with metal and more complex tracks despite people saying otherwise. They play pretty loud and quite fun. I just thought I would show some measurements and opinions in case anyone else is interested.

Below is a measurement of one speaker at about 1 meter in my room.
Here is another at my seated position.
I have a leather couch, so my seated position measurements tend to have some weird reflections. I need to change it at some point. I am surprise how balanced these are considering there is no filter or baffle step compensation on these. They actually have a bit too much bass at the moment as you can see at 50hz. Supposedly you can tune that with polyfill in the lower portion of the horn. I have not tried that yet. The extra bass right now is kind of fun.
Thanks for posting. The measurements are much better than expected.
That is pretty nuts for just a driver in an enclosure. Interest in widebanders are what pointed me in this DIY direction some 20years ago though I never got to mess with em much.
Is your baffle about 12 ~ 13" wide?
(Just trying to get an idea of what my NF monitor baffle width should be . . . )
This looks fabulous:

The baffle is just under 11" wide.
Excellent - perfect for my speaker shelf above my 3 display monitors . . .
