  • @kenrhodes It was double woofer, so BIG box. Aluminum CD not as ideal sounding as Id like. as mentioned not sure its hardware or my 24/7 tinnitus but even My klipsch R with alum tweeters are sounding not so nice.

I have one H2606/920000 I plopped down with a xo used for a "known" build since i had the parts, and it sounded awesome. I had it with a 6fe200 and it was awesome listening to it. It had no bass so I slid my non functioning econowave box over haha, spliced in DC300 separate from xo just to hear that speaker with bass and I was on the road to happy.

I wanted that in smaller size so i picked 8+1, I even considered sticking with that and using the GRS SW8HE on side as 1ft^3 it does really well based on sims, and great xmax. that would allow keep small speaker foot print.

I forgot to take impedance verification before I sent back Dats. That was simed, but box was slot ported.
I need to unload my subs onto my avr- pull dsp 2x4hd and try to test again with my WG with foam glued to them.

Ill do some testing with my JBL HM17-25 also, but it sounded a bit cupped hand sounding with the 220TI, maybe my 3 CDX-1 1746will sound good.

Reading my post before I hit "post" reminds me why I unloaded all my XO parts, and want to stop diy. Its like a drug for me. I just end up with more piles of parts lol-

  • @DrewsBrews HAHA- gatekeeping is insane in the DIY community. If you don't formulate your question with all the information you don't have but need man do they rip into you. ...Not so bad here sofar, actually surprised and excited to interact here.
Its how I accumulated so much stuff, I literally traded a way $200 easy in inductors and I still found 3-4more 1.0mh iron cores hidden in empty boxs. I hit a wall with information keepers and throw in the towel.

  • Yep tends to be more chill here.

  • Gate keepers can go climb a tree
    Once you buy some DSP
    Amplifiers for us galore
Closet full of parts no more
    Power tools we will amass
Snobby guys can kiss our a**

    GoooOOO DSP!!

    I actually have a 32 channels :) . 12x35, 16x60, 6x60.

I even had 3 Dayton DSP-408 but sold them. They just sat on a shelf going unused, to much noise for theater and CDs, and I cant afford the bog boy dsp.

  • I have found that most people " gatekeeping " are full of it and don't have anything special.

Commit to a combination that fits your needs the RS225-4 should work well as a woofer on a 2-way as long as you can get a tweeter to play low enough. Once you have something built you can start to use EQ/DSP to test what it would sound like to drop the peeks down to where you think it should be. If it sounds good then you change the crossover to match.

If you still have the D2606, they perform well in a waveguide.

A job for the beastmode tweeter?

  • Sorry, I was thinking of the D2606.

That would make the short list for sure.
