Or nearly infinite. So much headroom for activities.
They even had receipts from a recent service checkup. He was also selling the matching preamp, but I felt I had splurged enough and passed on that one. When I got home, my wife looked at me like I was crazy and asked "...why?". So I guess I'm going back.
I've wanted one of these brutes since my kids were in diapers, and I was too broke to even think about it.

Sweet!
Holy Cow! That's a once in a lifetime score.

I have always wanted one of those amps. My first receiver ever was a Yamaha, and I have a bit of nostalgia about Yamaha ever since. They come up for sale around me every so often. Let me know how you like them.

Beast mode enabled. Nice score. Gotta love a good old fashioned arc welder.
They're a bit like a Mercedes. Precision engineering, top tier performance, and heaven help you when something breaks 'cuz it's going to be expensive. Unlike the older M-80, though, there's more space (options) if the main filter caps need replaced, so that's one saving grace.
The plastics are getting extremely brittle with age. Oh, and the binding posts aren't a standard 5-way, so no bananas.
I will do my best NOT to test that claim. Haha
Still, I'm wondering what I build to pair with them.
That's the first thing I thought of too!
Very nice! Were those on marketplace in NEW? I feel like I remember seeing an MX1000 on there.
Possibly? He was about to put them up on ebay and wasn't looking forward to building them sturdy shipping crates. Haha
Those old Yamaha amps are sleepers. Gotta love vintage class A/B
