Came across this stuff today , curious if it could be used to kill resonance in a speaker cab? I recently changed gigs and am now working on a A/V, lighting and security project at a local watering hole. Local flooring outfit came in and started laying this stuff over the substrate flooring ( second level of the building) . Monday, they will start pouring two levels of some type of gypsum mixture , first layer goes down , wait for it to cure then the second goes over that. Im guessing this really isnt effective unless its compressed with a heavier material over it ? The plastic like strands are really springy and dont seem to loose any memory after squishing it down for a couple minutes by hand. The layer the strands attach to is almost like a cotton batting of sorts.

Is the mesh side like reinforcement for the gypsum?

Good question , I know when they were laying it , the white cloth was facing up and the strands were down .

seems like a vibration isolator or separation barrier for shrinkage
