Get familiar with the reaction system: Introducing the Reaction System

Fountek FR59EXE

Picked these up from Madisound. Look nice, we'll see how they measure and sound:

First issue: no polarity indication at all, whoops.

More data to come soon.

    Joke answer: Yes.

Serious answer: Claims to be a 2" full-range, but with a resonance at ~140 hz... hmmm, prolly not IMO.

  • In your last photo I see a + sign next to the terminal on the right. They are pressed into the bakelight terminal strip.

As I understand it, this is a Fountek made copy of the Audible Physic RAM2 driver, currently available as a mid-high in this component set:

    https://www.slaacoustics.com/products/ram-2-6-q-component-set?variant=45088689037

I tried waybacking the original link to the RAM2, but it's gone and Archive did not crawl the page.

  • Ben, nice catch, without my flashlight right on, I would never have seen the textured polarity indicators. Thanks

  • This is a pretty common method to notate polarity, and I've seen it on many drivers.
