Woofer suggestion for 3 way

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am looking for any suggestions for a woofer for a classic 3 way (40L) with Transducer Labs tweeters and Audax HM130z0 midrange. Normally I would start with the woofer, but this is kind of a "bargain" leftover build...bargain only in that I got nice deals on these.  I already have some Audax Am210z2s I could use but they have limited bass potential and the SPL may be low, but if the transition from mids to midbass is worth it due to both being aerogels, maybe a subwoofer is worth it.  Aesthetically, it looks nice anyway.


Should I be looking at Pro woofers like the
Faital Pro 12PR320 at 96db?

Any other suggestions?

With either of those, 40L would be about right for a sealed enclosure, but they'll want more space to be used ported.

That FaitalPro 12 looks pretty good, and it can afford to lose 3 dB to baffle step and still allow that mid to play without bringing it down. I'm sort of attracted to high-efficiency low distortion designs lately.

For a 10" on a budget you can't go wrong with the Peerless 830668.  It would work well in 40 liters sealed and stuffed.  Plus it's 8 ohm so your impedance doesn't drop too crazy low in a 3 way.  It's the same woofer Paul used in his Tarkus design.  I never could understand his weird ported alignment though.  Seems as if he fell into Grumpy's "F3 is everything" mindset.

I think the Peerless 830668 or Scanspeak 22W/8534G00 would be a good bang for the buck. The Scanspeak 22W/8534G00 is used in our Vianadi 3-way.
