Frozen coil resistance

If a coil was stuck in a motor and the cone had zero movement, wouldn't one assume that the resistance would change? I measured a driver and it measured perfect but upon later inspection the cone is frozen in position.

Am I missing something?

    Impedance sure, DCR not at all. Electromechanical operation has nothing to do with the resistance of a length of wire.

    So when I used my multimeter, that was impedance, not DCR, correct? Turn the dial to the ohm section and select 200 for number of places.....

    Your multimeter was measuring the DCR, not the impedance.
