Hoarding purge

edited January 2022 in Classifieds

Gotta make room - no joke this time. Make an offer if you don't like the price - I'll give you guys first crack and then put the stuff up on PETT. Everything below is boxed up as grouped in the pics and has to go. Shipping from 48335 and box size and weight shown if you want to estimate shipping cost.

Vifa/Peerless NE315W-08 - new $220/pr plus shipping 27x16x9 17lbs SOLD

Vifa/Peerless NE180W-04 - used $60/pr plus shipping 14x11x6 5lbs SOLD

Dayton LS10-44 - used $50 plus shipping 11 x 11 x 6 11lbs

New amp boards with used heatsinks - 2.1 with 4 x tda7294 and 2.0 with 2 x lm3886 - $15 plus shipping 10x10x6 4lbs SOLD

Passive radiator party pack - 2 x DS175-PR, 2 x DS215-PR, 1 x DSA270-PR (the aluminum one, even though the box doesn't say it) - like new - $50 plus shipping 17x12x11 7lbs SOLD

SPA240 plate amp - used, works great - $75 13x13x11 13lbs

Cheap tweeter group - 2 pair of MCM, 2 pair of Dayton - new or like new - $50 plus shipping 11x11x6 5lbs

PE 0.25 cu ft cherry cabs with DS175-PRs and binding posts. Baffle cut for LD22 and WF146, and the baffle is removable. The finish is a little beat up, but these would make great proto cabs if you can cut new baffles. Don't want to see them go in the trash but they can't stay here. $40/pr 19x16x13 25lbs SOLD

  • Great drivers, good prices. Good luck!

But Chahly - Stahkist don't want speakers that look good, Stahkist wants speakers that sound good!
  • Interested in the ne180. Would like the ne315 also but need the $ elsewhere.

  • I'm working with the NE180-4 currently with the CAT378. Hoping they turn out good.

Gotta link for the 2.1 amp board? I know about the other one...

That should be a great combo. I love the sensitivity on the NE180W-04 and it's a high Qms design, so the dynamics should be there in spades. I was really looking forward to using them, but... then I never did.

The 2.1 amp is a few years old at this point and tested, but never really used. It has an on-board power supply so only a transformer is required (I actually have a 350VA tranny if you're interested too). The only downside is that it needs a soft start circuit with such a large required tranny and I didn't want to figure all that out. This is the closest thing I see still available https://www.ebay.com/itm/Finished-TDA7294-2-1-Amplifier-Board-2-x-80W-160W-Subwoofer-AMP-2200UF-63V-/323329936533?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
The heatsink I added should be sufficient and doesn't look stupid like a lot of them do.

PM me your address and if you want both pair or just the 180s I'll send you a total.

Dan- Looks like Steve wants the NE180-4 if they aren't spoken for...

Kornbread spoke up first, but if he doesn't respond with details, I'll PM Steve over at PETT

  • I'll take the cherry cabinets of they are not yet spoken for.

  • I def thought about the cabs, but I thought hard and realized I don't have any 5.25" woofers that would:
a- fit the cab or cutout. All are non-round frames.
    b- not be subwoofers.

I have several 3", 4", and then go basically to 6.5-7" save for a few square frames and subs. I just wouldn't be able to use them.

The NE180-4 is not the flattest spec response, and it took a SXO for the results to look right to me as I did not like the PXO I came up with at all. When Missing Link is done, I will cut baffles for these in the same cab to try. Calling them the Jaekels. I figured the deeper cone and deeper tweeter might be easier to use together, but the Fs of the CAT were different enough to require different networks. I'll keep y'all posted.

The tranny would be heavy to ship, but I'm interested if that's possible. Most of the DIYers use a PTC for a soft-start on chip-amps. I wonder if that'd apply here... If not, I can build one of Red Elliot's circuits I'm sure.
