Dust Filter

I'm setting up my new shop in the basement.  I'm a bit of a fanatic about dust collection. I designed commercial systems when I was younger. Instead of venting the room with an exhaust fan (this house is much tighter), I decided to build a dust filter. The dust filter is made up of old dehumidifier fans that I've saved over the years, a ebay MERV 15 filter and a cheap furnace pre-filter.  I'm happy with the performance. I haven't measured but I'm in the neighborhood of 700 cfm.

Cool.  How long does it take to clear the air after you get done cutting something?   Do the fans make a lot of noise or are they fairly quiet?

Bill, I also use a large dust collection system connected to each tool so room dust is not much of an issue.  I'm using this filter to pick up the fine dust that settles out over time.  So far it is working well.  The dehumidifier fans are centrifugal type like a house furnace fan so they are quieter than my bandsaw and about the same volume as my drill press. I guess I could measure
