DMM dead :(

Well crap I guess it was just a matter of time...  My trusty Fluke 75 that I bought back in 1992 finally bit the dust today while working on my tube amp project.  I have an older Beckman 4410 but I don't totally trust it and there is no way I trust the cheapo Cen-Tech meter I got a few years ago as a door prize.  That said, any recommended places to get a good deal on a new Fluke?  This sucks!  I feel lost without my go to meter.  Project is on hold until I get a great replacement.

And as I told my wife, this baby isn't just for speaker and amp building.  I used that meter for countless automotive and household trouble shooting and repairs.

My go-to is the 179, but can be considered fairly expensive for a hobbyist. I have one I have carried with me for the better part of a decade across several companies so spreading the original ~$400 cost out over the lifetime of the tool (and it shows no signs of dying) means it is pretty inexpensive overall. Generally I tell my boss to keep whatever meter they think I need and just to pay to calibrate mine every year.

Fluke is the standard in my opinion.  I'm looking at the 117 right now.

New Fluke arrived yesterday.  Just used it and it is just like every other Fluke I've used....  Great!
