LOTS OF DRIVERS FOR SALE

2»

Comments

  • With the present job, I'll never be able to make a meet, or get much time to build anything, but I would like to give the grs and radian planars a try. If someone doesn't take them at the meet, or can somehow nab them, or if Charles could ship them, I promise that I will 'try' and work them into a build and use up some of the shelf stock in the process.

  • Does anyone know anything about the AR drivers on the list? My google foo has failed me!

  • edited March 2023

Here is some info on the AR drivers. Both the 5.25 and 6.5" use a very nice looking single piece inverted aluminum cone. The data I have on these drivers is found below:

    Dayton AR 5.25” Buyouts
    Specifications: *Power handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max *VCdia: 1" *Le: .26 mH *Re: 3.0 ohms *Frequency range: 75-6,000 Hz *Fs: 75 Hz *SPL: 92 dB 1W/1m *Vas: .35 cu. ft. *Qms: 3.22 *Qes: .45 *Qts: .40 *Xmax: 3.5 mm *Dimensions: Frame OD: 6", Cutout Dia: 4-3/4", Depth: 3-1/4". T/S parameters measured with the WT2: Fs= 72.6 Hz, Qms= 3.15, Qes= .464, Qts= .404, Le= .27 mH, Re= 3.1 ohm, Vas= 6.31 liters

These would be great in an MTM!

This is all I have on the 6.5" driver:

I pulled one of each driver for a photo. Both are shielded with a pole vent. 6.5" on the left, 5.25" on right:

  • Those are nice looking

  • I remember those now! Did a few models for people with them too, likely MTM, and back about 2010. I know 'Ryan' on PETT built a few with them.

  • Thanks, Mr. Internet Archive!

Honestly I had forgotten exactly how I came to have these drivers. I think I got the 5.25" from the PE buyout and the 6.5 pair I got from Ebay. Despite their age they seem pretty good and are still in NOS shape.

BTW I forgot about a pair of NOS 15" sub Dayton RSS390HO that I have. I should have added it to the for sale list but it was in the back of the stack so to speak. Yet another project that I dreamed up that never came to fruition...

I am OK selling it at more than 50% off, so please drop me a line if you are interested.

  • For anyone interested, here is the datasheet and measured TS parameters info for the 12" Eminence-made woofers that were used by Sausalito Sound. I'm also attaching nearfield measurements that I made.

I'm surprised about the lack of interest in the Peerless 850491 8" woofers. These are pretty nice. I would have used them in a recent project but needed eight (only have six on hand). These have good sensitivity and are 8 Ohm so you could use two in parallel in a floorstander project. At $20 each these are a steal. The MFG data is shown below:

  • Oh, the rare Peerless XLS 8". Seems like they were not around very long, and then the SLS models showed up and the XLS8 drifted into the ether. Always wanted to hear them, since they had 10mm xmax and all.

  • The Peerless 830491 are now sold. Can I pique anyone's interest in the four RS225? They are the shielded version.

Here is a pic of how they are packed now. They are screwed face down to particleboard with some stiff rubber tubing used as spacers. This protects the delicate cone. The rear end is pretty damage-proof, and the box is very heavy duty cardboard.

    Updated list posted:
    http://audio.claub.net/temp/Charlies Stuff for Sale.pdf

There are still some good bargains to be had. There is also a pair of Dayton RSS390HO 15" subs for $145 each that is not on the list.

I will open things up to those who need shipping in about another week.

  • Updated the list again. Most of the smaller drivers have now been sold. I am open to shipping the remaining ones at buyer's expense.

  • Just a reminder that I still have a pair of Dayton RSS390HO-4 15" subs, and a pair of Dayton RSS265HO-4 10" subs available for sale. 390s are $145 each and the 265s are $150/pr. Both are in excellent condition. The 390s are unused. I will consider trading for all or part of the cost of some other drivers as part of a swap.

Note I am open to shipping, but keep in mind that these are both pretty heavy and therefore expensive to ship these days...

  • What do you think the shipping would be for a RSS390HO-4 to 75002?

  • edited April 2023

Each 390 in its MFG carton weighs 28 pounds and measures 17x17x10 inches. Please look up the cost online or via whatever shipping software you might have.

  • Charlie, are you still sitting on those 10’s and 15’s?

  • edited July 2023

The 10" RSS265HO-4 pair is sold. I still have the pair of 15" RSS390HO-4 but they are unfortunately a bit pricey to ship unless you have a way to generate a label at a discount that I can use. Each 390 in its MFG carton weighs 28 pounds and measures 17x17x10 inches if you want to check out pricing. If you happen to be in MI you can stop by and pick them up...

  • The initial driver link is bombing out just as a heads up.

  • I took down the list because most everything was sold.
