I will be at AXPONA working in the Linkwitz/Ear Food room again and I'd like to switch up my hotel venue. I'm currently booked into the Wyndham. This is a very run down hotel about 1 mile north of the Convention venue. Stayed there last year and it was a dismal experience. Reviews indicate that there have been no improvements and construction is ongoing, so I'm considering re-booking at some other hotel south of the venue. The nearest ones that were associated with the conference are sold out so I am expanding my search, maybe near the Mall. A comfortable/quiet hotel with breakfast on site and possibly some dining options nearby is attractive. Will consider any price level.
Any advice? If you are attending where are you staying and why? Thanks for any help you can give.

I’m staying here. I had to pull a few strings to get it, but I got him I’ve never been to Axpona .

Nice. Hotel has been sold out for awhile now. Lucky you.
I think that might be the place Paul C. had the Chicago DIY. If so it was REALLY nice!
If it is, that place was massive!

Yes, that's the conference center and hotel for AXPONA. Huge.
Dan and I are at the Springhill Suites by Marriott just up the road. We’ve stayed there before and it’s fine.
Unfortunately Springhill Suites by Marriott is sold out. I booked at room at the Hampton Inn and Suites, just south of the Woodfield Mall. A bit of a walk but doable. A plus is that it is next door to Granite City Brewery! There are a bunch of restaurants in the area and a Whole Foods. I'm there WED nite through MON morning. Drop me a line if you want to connect or stop in to the Linkwitz room on floor 15.
If someone wanted to drive back and forth for a one day trip (sans hotel), is there FREE street parking near the hotel, within reasonable walking distance?
Well there should be, as that is what Chuck, Brad, and I are doing next Saturday.

I believe parking is free
I really wish I could make it this year. We might go next year instead of going to Indy.
I am going to miss this year - I am out this week and the next week travelling to Houston for work.
If anyone going gets a chance to visit Janszen, room 1114, I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks

Honestly, I've not been impressed with their products prior. YMMV.

Yes, his previous speakers created somewhat narrow listening environments (as with other planars, hence companies adding rear/side facing tweeters to ~ compensate).
Anyway, it would be interesting to see / hear what the 'sequential array signal' approach does for the broadening of the soundstage. And, that the electrostatic line array handles 200Hz+ gets initial ++credit in my book.
