I think I bought my first Betamax VCR in about 1983. I was in college, so I could only afford the cheapest Sanyo model. Here's the link to Boston Acoustics - it had RCA audio outputs and my A70s reproduced the hiss pretty well. My girlfriend (who became my 1st wife) wore out the heads in just a few years. She was taping General Hospital every day. Then we bought a much nicer Sony model - still Betamax. Ended up giving that one to a friend who collects and repairs all kinds of Sony stuff. Thanks to him, it's still working to this day.
