Just getting my feet wet, trying to remember how to run this. This old amp I got free from a buddy of mine and the old girl does pretty well per channel.
Ok last one then I’ll start get more documented results. I had to try an amplifier with no gains on it. Over 300w a channel not bad for this old 80’s amp.
That's really good for that old Onkyo amp. It uses STK amp modules that were optimized for 8 ohms and they didn't even rate it at 4 ohms. Switch in both speaker outputs and it runs them in series.
Looks like a linear power supply is dropping voltage. If the test is to 1% distortion then the max wattage should be essentially the same. Total watts would only go up if the distortion went down with more voltage.
Is the battery bank still good? If the battery's are bad then they might be a load to the power supply.
I believe the battery are garbage. On that test it threw the breakers on both power supplies. Batteries are way too expensive and I don’t give two shits about 12 V car audio anymore so those will probably be the last of that. The only reason I need any batteries is because the a AD-1 it’s 9v-24v.
Sounds like battery issues for sure. I might bring my little Pyle amp around Saturday (if you will be working). It is identical to the AudioSource Amp100 so I'm sure quite a few people might be interested in results.

Wow!
Just one channel or bridged?
Per channel.

That Onkyo is a perfect DIY event amp.
If anything drops below 4ohm she likes to go it protect easy.

Ah, maybe not then. Most of my builds dip below 4ohms here and there.
A friend ask me to dyno some new UTV stereo amps he had. Nice little powerful amps.

This one is a cheaper model.

nice do you know what they retail for?
No. Sorry

Class D FTW!

Those are putting out at low voltage, as well. Be interesting to see output at 14.4V.
