I have one pair of Rival paper woofers (R176-P-08) and one pair of Rival coated Kevlar woofers (R176-KC-08) for sale. Both are $60 per pair + shipping + PayPal Condition: like new, used for testing.
The clean out continues. Here is a pair of Rival R176-PVB-08. Based on the 'P' series, they are a Special Edition that were produced last year. I don't think I will get around to using them. These drivers are absolutely gorgeous and in mint condition. I hooked them up in my small boxes and they sound terrific. $60 for the pair + shipping + PayPal
OK, I stopped crying and ready to sell my Rival KVJ drivers. My personal favorites. The construction of the new drivers is a little better but I like this driver allot.
These have a different cone and surround than their new offering. $70 for the pair + shipping+ PayPal
I recently started seriously tested my Rival R176-CP drivers in a 2way with an Airborne 4001 AMT.
Tremendous bass and great midrange clarity. Thanks for the sale prices!
Rjj45, That is great to hear. I have four of those drivers which are next in line for my speaker projects. I'd love to see any measurements you take and any and all other info and impressions. I was thinking of doing a MTM or TMWW with them. Your comment "great midrange clarity" moves me more towards the MTM. Either design would be a tall and narrow (as possible) floor stander. Thanks!
I agree. The CP is a very fine woofer. Rival has been refining the coating for an updated version. I caught a sneak peek at them last week. They look a little different, but not much. They are supposed to be released soon. I also got to listen to a set of TM speakers by one of their OEM customers which has the R176-P-08 and SS D3004/6600 AirCirc. Incredibly refined and natural sound. I would like to pair the Rivals with the Aurum Cantus Aero Striction. I think that would be a real nice match as well.
Next up is a pair of R176-KCXV-08 coated Kevlar 7'' drivers. Mounted for testing. $70 for the pair +shipping. Got them from an OEM guy. They look identical to the KVC drivers. Mic set at 10'' on center/ 24th Oct.
