Marketscreen also reported on it. They stated Eminence had about $12million in revenue and EBITDA of $0.48. Eminence was in serious trouble if that EBITDA is accurate.
Sounded like B&C wants to be able to manufacture products in US and this is likely the infrastructure they needed in order to do that. Hopefully a win-win to keep everyone working and supplement any lost productivity from the Eminence side.
There was a Chinese factory that was owned by Eminence Holdings that was included in the deal too, which had a much better EBITDA. I'm assuming Eminence was pushing the profits back to the factory for some reason. Even with this, the total profit margin wasn't great. Looks like both entities sold for $4.5M.
I thought Eminence were one of the biggest manufacturers. My guess is that they didn’t pivot and shift in time to make all those < 3” drivers that are fill the marketplace now.
I hesitated, and didn’t buy their Tour grade 18” or 21” Subwoofer.
When I was in tech school (Louisville KY) back in 94/95 one of my teachers was friends with one of the techs working there. Eminence had me out to the facility to build a driver from scratch. I got to go through and pick parts out and assemble a 15" musical instrument type driver. It was such a freaking awesome experience for a speaker geek like me. I mentioned I would use it for my bass and Tom gave me another set of prototype 10" drivers they had laying around. I did this for my science fair exhibit at the school. Unfortunately the 15 I built got lost, but I do still have the 10's and built some PA speakers that we use at our practice place: https://diy.midwestaudio.club/discussion/1472/the-entonates#latest

If none of you have ever looked up Leo Frank's subwoofer, it was still online last I looked. Basically, he did the same thing, (Jerry is a friend from their Sunday schedules) and built one for a 10-12ft^3 sub in his basement. He no longer lives their, but the read is still good. I bet a quick Google search would turn it up. By the way, the address was on BASS Lane. Lol....

Again, tough times we are living in.
It’s pretty bad when I got to hear it from China. WTF. Also sounds like BNC has been buying up quite a few different businesses.

At least they were not bought by venture capitalists. B&C will very likely keep the name and products. Hope Jerry keeps his job.
I just heard from him that all is well, and that it will be a very good thing for Eminence.

Thats very good to hear. Here's to a new beginning for Eminence and best wishes for all involved.

This ^ guy was in fact a mechanical engineer if he is the same Leo Frank --> https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Leo+Frank's+subwoofer&atb=v350-1&ia=web&iax=about
No mention of a subwoofer though . . .
