You're doing the right thing in sanding it back, but I would sand it more. Everywhere that you still see the black paint, it's low and will show up when you spray it again. I know it's tempting to hurry it along and call it good, but saves more work to do a bit more prep right now. Not to mention less disappointment later.
I painted a pair of baffles Rustoleum satin black one time and had a few imperpections. So I sanded back the next day kinda like you did. Waited another 3 days before repainting it. Darn stuff curled up like I had applied stripper to it.
Of course temp and humidity, how many coats, and how heavy they were play a big role. So what didn't work for me doesn't necessary mean it won't work for you. Just throwing my experience out there for data.
I tried a spot and it wrinkled up. I will wait till next weekend to paint. This will be my last speaker build using rustoleum. I have had much better luck with the automotive paints from fleet farm. They are about 2 time the price though.
I've pretty much given up on all Rustoleum spray paint products. Just not worth the savings. My time and sanity are worth more. That said the Dupli-Color 500° engine enamel from O'Reilleys or Farm & Fleet has never failed me. They have a pretty decent selection of colors although I almost always go black or gray.
I got my first set of measurements done and ordered up some components to start voicing a crossover. I was surprised at how many parts were out off stock at PE. There were a lot of caps and resistors that were out of stock, and I had to make some concessions on what I wanted. I also ordered some coils from US Coils. It would be nice if someone would stock their coils again. There are not a lot of options for larger gauge coils. I also like their super Q coils.
I have different coils coming soon from US Coils that I will put in once they come. I ordered a superQ for the woofer and a 14awg air core for the mid. If anyone was not aware, US Coils took over for Erse, and is great to work with.

How long did that take to print?
To print?
So much for my reading comprehension. Darn old eyes and trying to read quickly through a post.
Well, I wasn't happy with the paint on the baffles, so I wet sanded them and will repaint this weekend. I am trying to learn not to rush things.
Sometimes ya have to learn the hard way.
If that was Rustoleum spray paint I would wait longer.
@PWRRYD how long do you wait? I typically wait 72hrs and have had good luck. The can says 48.

I'd sand it back further like Nick suggested then apply a coat of automotive gray primer first.

I much prefer Krylon/Duplicolor/VHT brands. I only use Rustoleum if I can't get the color wanted in the other 3.
Duplicator 1k clear is awesome!
In fact, top coat with VHT Nite Eyes, and that black will look great!

VHT, Duplicolor, Krylon and ColorMaxx are all made by Sherwin-Williams.
I really like VanSickle from Fleet Farm, but it's $13 a can. At this point though, I am on my 3rd wet sand and repaint to try and get it to look good.
"Fleet Farm" tells me that you must be from WI or MN, or possibly IA or SD...
About 25 miles north of Minneapolis.
I knew Duplicolor and Krylon were the same company, but did not know VHT was.

I finally got a finish i am happy with. A few dust nibs, but no other issues. I should be able to assemble and get measurements soon.
I am finally ready to start taking measurements. I am really digging how these look.
Yep. Look great.
Clean!! I diggum🤘🏼

Um ... maybe here.

Wow! Exceptional work on that XO, Johnny!
Wish I could hear them . . .
@Kornbread I wish Julefidelity would have 14awg air cores or the super Qs available. I love supporting them when possible.
Let the fun begin.
