The Bromo is a little bigger, close to the size of the TDX. You have to put it together, but i think the xover is soldered up for you. AND, it is cheaper than both with finished cabinets.
Being I've heard this one too, I feel it is likely the best buy of the 3. Minimal assembly, finished black cabs, ceramic drivers, etc. The only negatives are it is larger than the Opal1, and you have to do the assembly work. No finishing required.
Yes. I’ve tried the Sherwin-Williams gallery series as a primer and sanded it, but it just doesn’t seem to work quite like primer does. One coat of primer two coats of gallery, and you can sand on the gallery in between.
New Dayton Audio 3/4" Carbon Fiber tweeter, individual or matched pairs. The links don't work yet, but looks like there will be a 2" dome midrange too.
Yes I understand. But woven carbon fiber starts as a flexible cloth, like fiberglass. It is often used to reinforce hard resins. But not an absolute requirement. A softer resin could be used.
I did not try and poke them to see, but holding it in my hands there, it had a pretty tight weave and did not appear that it would be very flexible. Same for the 2" mid.

New 1.16^3 knock down box from Dayton. Not too bad a price. Some other knock downs too.
Those BR1 cabs are a little costly though.

That's a heck of a deal for the quality in the Bromo.
Ultimax II’s coming soon

Hope they fix the 8" problem of the cone slapping the frame.
Looks like several significant improvements like the shorting ring and sleeve. The smaller ones might be able to be used as an anchor on a 3-way.
The eight inchers could used as an anchor on a boat.
Some T/S specs would be nice.
Carbon fiber cones, no longer nomex. New frames, indexed surrounds, more xmax, etc....

And they're only 27 pounds.
Knockdown cabs are back, as well.
Hey Brad,
Going way back to your Sherwin Williams Gallery Series post...
For kitchen cabinets, would you use 1 coat primer, 2 coats paint (lightly sanded between coats)? Primer is tinted and paint is a dark green.
I think brad will say yes

PE has a bunch of new Cross Cap values, oddball sizes.

I forgot they showed those off at SDC this year.
I was interested in the matched pair option, but the impedance plot gives me reason to pause.
I'm with you on this one Ed. Internal reflections or something going on there.
I was under the impression those were to be Epique units. I guess I misunderstood.
Even so, I don't see the offset mounting holes like Bryan showed at SDC. This was so the matched and truncated units had all 4 mounting points.

I must not have been there at the time if they talked about them. Is it flexible or hard diaphragm?
Woven carbon fiber

Is it possible to take the faceplate off these?
Not a new product by any means, but has anyone got the RS52AN and inspected the faceplate? Can it be taken off and replaced with a WG?
That thing is glued-on pretty darn well - I personally wouldn't attempt it but I have read somewhere that someone did get them opened up.
I don't think either one can be.

The faceplate is removable on the 2" Hivi.
At least with AliExpress drivers you get a lucky dip.
This one comes broken on arrival…
