You could play around with what you have around the house. Washcloth, magic eraser, open-cell foam, carpet padding, almost anything that will absorb or diffract. I might give you a bit of warning about using your kids stuffed animals, even though they work great your kids might not appreciate it.
I have been spending a bit of time with these, and it is apparent that the MAC06 driver is the star of the show. It is really an amazing driver at its price!!! The bass it produces is really good for a 6.5" driver. I have the GRS tweeter working pretty well, and it works well open backed. This is a really good speaker at its price point!!! I mean, for $150 in drivers, holy crap!!!

Those speakers up by the ceiling are looking pretty damn jealous!
Those were also painted with leftover paint from a motorcycle paint job a few years ago 😀

Boss!!
Great project!
I enjoy the bass out of the TMWW I did with JF tweeter and MAC-04 and dual MAC-06. The bass out of the single MAC-06 based three way was also good.
I agree, great drivers at the price point
I got some 1" sonic barrier from PE and added that to the top of my cabinets. Looks much better than mattress topper.
How does that tweeter sound now with the padding?
I had 1" mattress topper on it before. Sounds the same with both materials, but the sonic barrier looks better.
