  • . . . A "GOOD piece", Eggie . . .

  • I still need an Amp with LFE out

  • I am using a cheap Chi Fi 3255 chip amp and the pre out picks up 60 Hz hum

  • I am listening to Morel speakers through a 90 dollar amp.

  • As long as it doesn't have crotch rot. :p

Any pre-HDMI receiver is practically free these days.

  • I bought an entry level Emotiva slightly used from a guy named Gary Gill with Capital audiofest in the DC area. Nice guy. Baby steps.

  • Baby steps means I take it slow so neither I nor my wife bust my ass.

  • Mostly flat on the bottom. Top side will be very interesting. I am not an expert, only my second time to finish a slab.

  • Do you have to go back and top-off the epoxy in those larger voids due to shrinkage, eggie?

  • You are correct

  • How about that punky wood - do you treat it with some sort of hardener or just leave it alone and hope for the best?
(Cool looking growth rings - quite unique).

  • The sapwood is spalted in places but I wouldn't call it punky, or as some call it, dodey. I don't think the tree was laying on the ground for very long. It was given to me by a buddy.

With a friend like that, I need more of your friends...

  • He is a unique guy. A roofer. Coached him in wrestling. He ventured out and started a commercial roofing company years ago. Bought a 60+ acre plot walking distance from my house. Hired someone to clear the the trees out for a drive. Put in a three acre lake. Built a pole barn house. There must be some money in commercial roofing.

All roofers are unique after being out in the sun that long. If he's reliable and does quality work, all the generals will what him on their jobs.

  • Well done!

    Fabulous!
Love the sheen on that satin finish.

  • Now that's a fucking subwoofer!!

    Steve_Lee
  • What would you guess that sub weighs?

  • 120 or 55 Kilos for our metric friends.

  • Down with Metrics... we don't want no foreign rulers.

    Steve_LeeEggguy
  • Nice! Does it pass the Jag coin test?

  • So I assume that is similar to placing a nickel on edge onto a running tablesaw top and if it stays upright it passes the vibration test?

I do like base ten but why did they make the meter so long?

  • My brother says they took the distance from Paris to London and divided it by 1000.

  • Close. The meter (derived from the Greek word metron, meaning “a measure”), would be 1/10,000,000 of the distance between the North Pole and the equator, with that line passing through Paris, of course.
