Not speaker related, but this Shop Fox hanging air filter may be more convenient than the big dust collectors for those with a shop in the basement or garage. 30% off until Sept 3.

I bot a WEN and put in up in my garage/ shop, and after a project or two pulled / replaced the air filter. Surprised by just how much sawdust it collected, so highly recommend having an air filter.

PE has a 13% labor day discount going, figures two days after I ordered something lol. I need to remember they always do a holiday discount.
I just ordered some stuff too. It is arriving today.🙄
Those are very good woofers and a steal at that price. I'd say two of them in parallel per side in a TMWW project will not disappoint for max SPL and low distortion.

That's a pretty awesome combo with the dual MCMs!! Is that your next build?
Since I find 3-ways such a PITA, and the PM180 gets down to subwoofer XO region just fine, and I've got a pair of SA70 plate amps.. Ive been brainstorming an idea to do it as a sealed 2-way; Which is integrated into a tower that feeds the speaker level signal into the SA70s for vented pairs of 55-5670s. Should get up to 106db+each side (1m) limited by the plate amp wattage. And if the wife doesn't want the wub-wubs in the early morning while watching TV she can turn the plate amps off (she gets up way earlier than me). Basically I got all the drivers seperately at different times (while still cheap before potentially going NLA), just intending to mix n match into something someday.
Though I'm trying to stick with some smaller builds for the moment.. and use these MAC drivers I've got sooner than later.
Yeah I keep flip flopping whenever I think about it. The woofers need a decent amount of internal volume to dig deep, and it would be space efficient to utilize area behind the MT section. That way it wouldn't need to be quite as wide or deep.. But if they were separate that opens up usability with different MT sections also.
They are not even listed now. Glad I got my pair and built my bass bins. They are a solid performer for any number of 3 ways. Maybe Petechman can shed some light on their status.

That is something I haven't thought about. My day job is being an auto tech and I breath horrible stuff all day. I guess I will pay for it soon.

Steve at Apex Jr has some 50uF 600V caps for $3.95.

I saved about $85 today on some items I have been wanting to get for a while - good deal for me.
Looks like 55-5670s are back in stock and price has not gone up ($39.99ea)

That would be a neat build !
som' like dis?
Pair sealed MCM 55-5670 using DSP:
.
PM180 and Beast Mode??
How do the rs225p-8 compare to the 5670? Do the 5670 hit metal to metal like the rs225 does when it bottoms?
Yup

Interesting! That's the exact combo of drivers I was planning. I already have the MDF cut for the two towers.
Stupid loud at only 30 watts (9.87 Vrms applied):
Barely moving:
Port compression? Not a problem:
I may end up building these as bass bins with separate MT boxes. Just easier to move around and build.

Exactly. I have reused bass bins in the past for different 3 ways (different MT's).
Has PE discontinued the RS270P-4A?
I've wondered the same thing. I bought a pair sometime at the beginning of 2024 and watched them go out of stock and then show as unavailable.

I like them so much that those bass bins might become the anchor of my PM180 three ways.
I really liked mine. I hope they come back.
Madisound has 6uf mylar caps for $0.85, that would be good for testing.
Looks like the RS270P-8 is unavailable as well....
