Most all stainless steel hardware we can purchase is 18-8, 304, or 316. None of them would affect a coil's inductance at all. I work with all of those daily. There are a few (very few) grades of stainless steel that have some magnetic properties. They are very uncommon though.
Went over next-door today and checked out the amp Dino to make sure I won’t need any parts for it which it all looks like it’s working order so after Iowa I’m gonna dig that out and do some home audio amp test see what they produce for power
Love that Kenwood! I had it's little brother & matching tuner, but our oldest took them to college. That was over 10 years ago and I don't think they are ever coming back home.
Vintage jibbles ! Nice .... wasnt most of that shit bright back in the day ? Some of those vintage silverface tanks had cut switches and speakers had those pots
Lol, it doesn’t matter which way I turn them or where I turn the pots. It’s like there’s just no baffle step in it at all, but they are pretty cool. They have all the paperwork from when the guy bought them.. Will dig inside see what’s in there
I sold a pair of those last year, but never got to hear them. Someone's kids had pushed in the tweeters and one of the mids was torn. Those look to be in much better shape!
Have they been in use recently? If not, it is possible that the old suspension needs to loosen up a bit. They might be less bright if they played for a few hours...
I lived with a pair of those in college. They were bright and revealing. My OC roommate had a pair driven by a Kenwood KA-9100(?) amp and I had a smaller Pioneer amp with a pair of BIC Venturi's. Very different sounds but it was awesome to have those choices back in the days before WAF.

Those should be fine I would think. I know a lot of aluminum near a coil can reduce its mH value, so be aware of that.

Non-ferrous metals will have an effect on the feild but it will be marginal in comparison. Lenz's law.
Quick test this morning for any interested.

Not sure what grades of SS most bolts are made from, but some grades of SS are ferrous.
I’ll checkout some ss tomorrow also

Craig is correct. I’ll be using SS hardware then . Easy to find.

Getting closer. Waiting on some stainless steel 1/4-28 screws.

That's quite the 'high bar' crossover build..

These Shure amps came out of The One and Only Corn Palace. We believe they were installed after the big fire in the early 80’s. Still work nice!!

Matching some tweeters for a New Mac kit. Only had 1 out of 8 that was wacky measuring.

I just measured another pair of those I had sitting on my shelf. They match darn near perfect so I may used them in my omni/OB project/experiment.
I also got this moved over today. I might have to read up on how it works again.

A new restoration job. These things are BRIGHT sounding. Should be fun to measure .

I think they're upside down. Turn them rightside up and they will sound dark lol
Those 12's are freaking awesome! The rest of it....ehh, it's ok.

Be neat to see the guts , Im guessing not too much in there though. The surrounds on the woofer looks pretty damn nice , almost factory !
The woofer are almost perfect shape. I’ll be doing a set of 4312’s after these.
