Not steak, but experimented with making ham into jerky. Used a small precooked sliced ham from Aldi. Super simple, just Lay out the slices on racks. Smoked with cherry 175F for and hour and 45min. Planned to go full 2hrs, but pulled early before the rainstorm really got going.

Its pretty good. Sort of bacon like, just much less fatty.

I love me some smoked salmon with steamed rice and asparagus.

  • About halfway there. Serve with fried potatoes, Mac and cheese, and cornbread with jalapenos.

Made coneys tonight so I got to use my Presto - Hot Dogger

How much current draw? Who cares! It is a faceoff between the hot dogs and the circuit breaker! Makes me giggle every time I use it.

It has safety devices like, um.. oah! A divider down the middle so the juices can't contact both electrodes at the same time. B)

  • I bet the weiner blows before the breaker does. We've all seen what happens at 1500w in the microwave.

Funny enough it is "rated" at 1500watts. Each wiener is like a resistor. Up to 6 in parallel.

    I do have a kill-o-watt... hmmm...

  • Marinated some chicken thighs in Thai chili sauce and served it up with fresh Anaheim peppers out of the garden and served over brown rice. Delicious.

After seeing this contraption I had to see it in action.

What is the best way to cook it? I would like to try it. Can it be cooked in a smoker?

I've seen several YouTube videos of people smoking some. Should be great smoked.
The only problem I see, is that the white thing in the left one is quite hard and needs to be removed once cooked. I do not know how well the smoke will penetrate that part during cooking.
